DESCRIPTION:Venture Capital in Healthcare sector\n– Mireia Angulo –  \nBrief description of the session /register \nThis is an introductory session to understand what a specialized Venture Capital (VC) is and how it works. We will cover basic concepts of: \n\nStart-up financing options.\nFundraising materials to attract the investors.\nThe investment process followed by VCs to select the opportunities.\nNegotiation with VCs.\n\nMireia Angulo is an Investment Analyst in Caixa Capital Risc\, the Venture Capital arm of Criteria Caixa. She focuses on the Life sciences sector\, investing in companies developing therapeutics\, diagnostic products and medical devices and board member of several portfolio companies. Prior to Caixa Capital Risc\, Mireia was an Investment Analyst at Healthequity\, a venture capital fund focused on the healthcare sector. In addition\, he held several positions in the public sector working for the technology transfer office of the University of Barcelona and the Clinical Hospital of Barcelona. Mireia holds a PhD in Genetics from University of Barcelona and earned her MBA from EADA business school.

DESCRIPTION:Register here \nSession description \nThis session covers different points for performing the valorization of biomedical technologies\, focusing on different points such as market analysis\, identification of competing technologies\, relevant company’s search\, etc. The objective of the lecture is to show different techniques for technology valorization\, as well as relevant databases to be used by the researchers and innovation staff for free. This session packs a lot of resources and practical information in a format aimed to be directly used in most of technologies. \nShort bio \nVicente’s background is in Human Biotechnology\, holding an MBA and a Master in Business Creation and Intellectual Property by the University of Gothenburg. Vicente’s experience ranges from pharmaceutical sales\, Intellectual property\, business development\, and tech-transfer. Currently\, he is co-founder and co-director of Viromii\, a consultancy firm focused on supporting valorization and tech-transfer operations of public and private R&D institutions. \n
