Summer School on Control of Surgical Robots, COSUR 2020

The third edition of COSUR will take place at Barcelona, this 2020, the days 4-26 September and 1- 2 October. The school aims to introduce students to the multidisciplinary environment of research in surgery with particular attention to the control algorithms used in robotic surgery and the impact of the cognitive factor in directing the control. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from well-known speakers and to work together on group projects in a positive and friendly atmosphere.

GAME PLAY video game culture, reopened

On Monday, the 15th of June the exhibition “GAME PLAY video game culture” is reopened at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB). We remind you that in the exhibition you will find one of the #seriousgames developed by the CREB UPC – Research Centre for Biomedical Engineering team of the The Dani Tost, Núria Bonet Codina and Ariel von Barnekow in collaboration with the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona team of Dra. Carmen Gomar Sancho and @Mayte Mata. Enjoy it and let us know your opinion! Remember: until August 30th. Tuesday to Sunday from 11 to 20h.

Effects, opportunities and challenges originated by #covid19 in the health system.

From the CREB UPC – Research Centre for Biomedical Engineering we collaborated at the Post-Pandemia Journeys of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, to reflect on the effects, opportunities and challenges originated by #covid19 in the health system. We celebrated the second conference via Meet. moderated by our current director Alex Perera and our former director Dani Tost. They debated around the role of telemedicine with Marc Ramentol Sabate, Francesc Garcia Cuyàs from Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and Jesús Prieto Vara from Siemens Healthineers.

CREB |UPC LAUNCHES A NEW HOMEPAGE

The homepage we replace has given good service to the CREB | UPC, providing useful information about our research center. The page has been well-liked and well-used. But it was time to make some changes, and with the incorporation of the new director Alex Perera, the right moment has come to prepare the Research Centre for new challenges and provide the best service and information to our audiences. First, we wanted to make the website more informative and easily accessible; at CREB|UPC we prize utility, practicality, serendipity and exploration. We also wanted to clean up the navigation structure, creating a navigation system designed to orient visitors and get them where they want to go.
