Doctoral Programme

At the UPC, the doctoral programme in Bioengineering started up the course 1984-85, organized by the Institute of Cybernetics (UPC-CSIC). Since 1997 the doctoral programme in Biomedical Engineering is organized, by means of an agreement, by the following units that belong to the Centre for Biomedical Engineering Research (CREB) of the UPC: Automatic Control Department, Electronic Engineering Department, Materials Science and Metallurgy Department and the Institute of Energy Technology. The programme coordination is done from the Automatic Control Department.

To enhance the interdisciplinary training of students, courses and research works related to Doctorate Programme are organized on different research topics. The intensifications of the Programme on Biomedical Engineering are the following:

  • Biomechanics and Biomaterials
  • Dosimetry
  • Biomedical Instrumentation
  • Medical Imaging
  • Robotics and Vision
  • Biomedical Signals and Systems
