We are looking for a PhD candidate to investigate the use of novel recombinant proteins for tissue engineering. The candidate will design, synthesize and purify recombinant proteins, inspired from extracellular matrix and growth factors, to stimulate adhesion and differentiation of human stem cells into relevant lineages for tissue regeneration. The novel designed proteins will be chemically attached onto different biomaterials (metallic and polymeric), and 3D-printed in cell-laden hydrogels for different target clinical applications (bone regeneration, wound healing, cardiovascular, etc.).
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher to work in the field of plasma medicine. The primary objective of the research is to investigate the molecular mechanisms involved in the stimulatory effect of cold plasma on tissue regeneration processes, as well as the mechanisms behind the lethal and selective action of cold plasmas on cancer cells. The ultimate goal of this project is to gain a fundamental understanding of the effects of atmospheric pressure plasma-treated hydrogels on redox biology and the molecular mechanisms involved in tissue regeneration and cancer cell death.

Predoctoral Researcher on the effects of Atmospheric Plasmas on Biomaterials and Liquids for Cancer Therapy
The BBT Group is looking for a highly motivated and creative PhD candidate to work in the field of plasma medicine and investigate the synthesis of biocompatible hydrogels, and the effects of atmospheric plasmas on them and on liquids. The ultimate goal of the research line is to gain fundamental understanding on the lethal effects of atmospheric pressure plasmas and plasma-treated liquids and hydrogels on cancer cells, and being able to implement new strategies for local and minimally invasive cancer therapy.
